The main difference: the 3D effect
The 3DS offers glasses-free 3D on the top screen. The 2DS displays the same image in 2D only — everything else works the same way.
Compatible games
Good news: 2DS and 3DS play the same games (all 3DS and DS games). The 3D effect is simply optional.

- 2DS: often more affordable and very sturdy (ideal for younger players).
